Bwakaw Dog photo contest

Good thing there's gonna be a movie about an Aspin (Asong Pinoy or Domestic dog in the Philippines). Not necessary a dog with well know breed but doesn't mean this is just a plain like any other dog. 

 BWAKAW (Cinemalaya 2012 Official Entry is an indi movie starring a well known and respected Filipino actor, Eddie Garcia and a dog named Bwakaw. It was about an old poor guy having a very loyal dog.

When I saw the trailer, I was touched and intrigue on what the movie is about. I have watched a lot of movies about dogs, Like Hachiko, Marley and Me, and Hearty Paws to name a few . All made of them me cry like a baby.

 I miss my friend Sam. 

BTW, they had made a contest in Facebook to post a picture dogs and their carers. I joined the contest to pay tribute and remember Sam and also to will tickets for this movie.

Survivor: Caramoan Island, Philippines

Goddess of the lake..or not!

Yes, it's true that this time of year, from February-August 2012, the Survivor Franchises (a lot of them) are taping in most of the islands, so no tourist is allowed on those chosen Islands. 


The Bad Part: Getting there...


It took us 1 hour flight to Naga, 2 hours Van (land) ride, an 1 hour 1/2 to 2 hours of boat ride, and 1 hour tricycle ride to the resort. It rained during our boat trip so for all those people that are sea sick...good luck! The ocean have HIGH WAVES during the late afternoon, around 3-5 pm..so BE VERY PREPARED!


But the Good parts:


LA PLAYA RESORT: It was located on the beach front( not yet the island,ok). The place is very nature-like, nipa hut rooms, clean and I would say decent for a simple barrio, way way far in the province.

LAHOS ISLAND-- an island with white sand in the middle of 2 rocky hill..beautiful beach, but the the white sand is not the fine (meaning not powdery)

MATUKAD ISLAND (The island with a lagoon with the magic "bangus" fish) --very beautiful island with FINE WHITE SAND. You can also climb the rocks to see the lagoon with bangus. REMINDER: This is vertical wall rock climbing. not for the weak of heart. But getting on the top is breath taking. 

Hold on for your dear life! Matukad Island

SAND BAR-- I think this is the best. A few kilometer circumference of pure white sand. During high tide (morning), the water level is waist high and during low tide (after lunch) you may see,feel and step on SUPER FINE WHITE SAND. We ate lunch there on a floating cottage and it is part LA PLAYA package to have seafood lunch, not to mention BICOL EXPRESS and LAING (local delicacies) Super Deliscious!!!

High tide or Low tide?

We loved it on the sandbar, so we didn't notice the time and got back to the boat at around 4pm...and it was really scary. 1 hour of big waves. I have to admit that imagine the worst of the boat capsizing. But Thanks to our boat captain...who can read waves and wind (seriously!) We managed to get back to our resort in one piece! It's out fault, we didn't leave the sand bar BEFORE 3 PM...


So 2-3 days in Caramoan, I think is enough to experience the untouched beauty of the islands..You can go and visit it once as an adventure/survivor seeker. But once is enough.. 

Fireworks, Baby!

The Pyromusical Competition starts this Saturday!

It's my other version of Misa de Gallo, 6 weekends of pure magic and spectacular fun! Attendance is a must! Every weekend you may witness beauty fireworks display with music inline with it. 


It's a romantic show for lovers and fun bonding with you family and friends... =) 

Cosmetologie 2012 - The Ultimate KIKAY EXPO

The Expo for all the Certified Kikays!

I'm so excited every February because of a lot of things...and this is one of the reasons why... The ultimate kikay expo is here! The SMX Convention Center turns into a haven of all things kikay,all kikays like me needs and wants are all in one roof! Last year, I bought a big hair curler and red lipstick and fake eye lashes! This year, my sights are on 3 barrel hair waver! You may thinks what the hell is that?Imagine how I feel and think when  my (HOT) I.T. nerdy boyfriend tells me about a new high tech of computer application out  that I will never know what it is and how it works..hehe! 


So calling all girly-girls and my kikay sisters, let's go to SMX Convention Center, February 21-22, 2012! =) I cant wait!!!!!!!

Coping with a Loss of a Friend

I've always had pets at home ever since I could remember. (My mom tells me that I had shared my crib with our cat.) So I know I have a soft spot with animals, specially cats and dogs.

And then, I got Sam, a German Shepherd dog. I never would have imagined loving a dog like I loved Sam. Yeah, we got dogs before. They come and go. There was even a time that mom sold them to bad guys who buy dogs. (The guys riding a tricycle). I got mad but didn't do anything about it.


For more than 2 years that I had Sam, we had our share of fun and adventure. Sam is a very smart and affectionate dog, so I don't have any problem bringing her to places with a lot of people. We went jogging, ran in a marathon,a actually win! I'm so proud of her. Sometimes, just going to the field, walking, playing ball, running and riding a side car. it was so much fun. Some people in our village is afraid of her because she's so big, but once they get to know her (pet her or if Sam wags her tail greeting them), they became very fond of her. =)


She's also became a part of me and MacMac's relationship. I'm happy that Mac and Andrei (Mac's nephew) adore her. 


I miss you Sam..I miss everything we do together. You've always been there for me. Thank you for all your love and loyalty. You have taught me how to love unconditionally and treat you not just a pet but also a friend, a companion, a child, a sister.


I will remember her and all time time we had together. I love you, Sam and you will always be in my heart.
